We had just one day to explore some of New Orleans this summer, so we took the St. Charles streetcar down to the Garden District. There we spent a sweltering day among the gorgeous old homes and tombs of Lafayette Cemetery No. 1. And, wow, there was so much to see and learn there about the history, growth and cultural diversity of such a fascinating city. It left me yearning to go back and discover more, although perhaps in the spring!
