We spent just one night in the desert of Morocco, but it was one of my favorite experiences. It was so peaceful and beautiful I could have stayed for days! (But maybe not in the Berber tent, although I got a great facial during the night from all the sand coming through the tent!!)
The Dunes of Erg Chebbi were so gorgeous with the changing colors of the sand through the day. We photographed the dunes at sunset then again at sunrise before our camel ride. At night we had an amazing Moroccan dinner at Auberge du Sud around the campfire. I so enjoyed moments like these getting to know all the photographers in our small group. Everyone told of great travel adventures from all over the world, as well as stories of living a life well lived, giving back something to the world, and enriching lives along the way. This made our trip very special.
Our leader was photographer and friend Ralph Velaso. I love traveling with Ralph on his cultural tours. He has taught me so much not only about the mechanics of taking a great photograph, but his advice on developing my photographic vision has greatly improved my photography. I look forward to learning from Ralph whenever I can! You can see his work and info about his tours on his website. Check it out!
