Mendocino, California might just be one of the most scenic locations on the Pacific Coast. It sits on a headland by the Pacific Ocean with the most amazing views of pure blue water, crashing waves and marine wildlife. Walking trails guide you through the wildflowers along the bluffs and then right into town.
The only town on the California Coast designated as a Historical Landmark, Mendocino is filled with streets of 1850s Victorian homes, many now B&Bs, and a small downtown with little shops, art galleries and restaurants. Mendocino has a welcome laid-back vibe that invites you to linger over a morning coffee at Moody’s Organic Coffee Bar or sip a few afternoon cocktails at the MacCallum House. Many of the restaurants offer creative organic, local food and lots of amazing local wines from the Anderson Valley.
One of my favorite things was the afternoon wine hour with our friends and other guests at the Packard House where we stayed. We absolutely loved the Packard House – so elegant, comfortable and welcoming.
Such a fun place to spend a weekend with friends!
